Have you ever read any Chinese web fiction, which are created by cyberspace writers and are published on line? Today, I’d like to show you some kinds of web fictions.

1. 武侠小说 wǔxiá xiǎoshuō

Swordsman fiction

Zhè lèi xiǎoshuō de zhǔjué  yībān dōu shì huì gōngfu de rén ，tāmen wǔgōng gāoqiáng ，néng gòu fēiyán zǒubì 。Xiǎoshuō lǐ huì chūxiàn xǔduō miáoxiě tā men xiūliàn wǔgōng huòzhě hé huàirén zhàndòu de chǎngjǐng 。

这类小说的主角一般都是会功夫的人，他们武功高强，能够飞檐走壁。小说里会出现许多描写他们修练武功或者和坏人战斗的场景。

Generally, such fictions are starred by the swordsman who are extremely expert at martial arts. You are expected to read the scenes, where they practice martial arts and fight with the evils.

2. 仙侠小说 xiānxiá xiǎo shuō

Supernatural fictions

Zhè lèi xiǎoshuō de zhǔjué chú le rén ，hái kěyǐ shì mó 、yāo 、shén 、xiān 、guǐ děng děng ，xiǎoshuō lǐ miáoxiě de chǎngjǐng wǎngwǎng dōu shì bú kēxué 、xūhuàn de 。

这类小说的主角除了人，还可以是魔、妖、神、仙、鬼等等，小说里描写的场景往往都是不科学、虚幻的。

Such fictions are starred by both humans and spirits. The scenes depicted are always illusory and not based on science.

3. 都市小说 dūshì xiǎoshuō

Urban fictions

Zhè lèi xiǎoshuō de zhǔjué wǎngwǎng shì shàngbānzú ，nèiróng zhǔyào miáoshù dūshì shēnghuó 。

这类小说的主角往往是上班族，内容主要描述都市生活。

Such fictions basically depict the urban life of office workers.

4. 言情小说 yánqíng xiǎoshuō

Romantic fictions

Yánqíng xiǎoshuō shì yǐ jiǎngshù yìxìng huò tóngxìng zhījiān xiàngài wéi zhōngxīn ，tōngguò gùshì qíngjiē hé huánjìng miáoxiě lái fǎnyìng àiqíng de xīnlǐ 、zhuàngtài de yī zhǒng wénxué tǐcái ，zhǔyào fèn wéi xiàndài yǔ gǔdài liǎng zhǒng lèixíng 。

言情小说是以讲述异性或同性之间相爱为中心，通过故事情节和环境描写来反映爱情的心理、状态的一种文学体裁，主要分为现代与古代两种类型。

Such fictions focus on the homosexual or heterosexual romance. It is a literary form reflecting the psychology and state of romance through the story and environment description.

5. 校园小说 xiàoyuán xiǎoshuō

Campus fictions

Zhè zhǒng xiǎoshuō yībān yǐ shǎonián zhījiān chúnzhēn qínggǎn wéi zhǔxiàn ，jiázá yǒu qīngchūnqī duì shēnghuó de kùnhuò 、chéngzhǎng de fánnǎo 、yǐjí hé jiāzhǎng lǎoshī zhījiān de gèzhǒng chōngtū 。

这种小说一般以少年之间纯真情感为主线，夹杂有青春期对生活的困惑、成长的烦恼、以及和家长老师之间的各种冲突。

Such fictions focus on the pure emotions between juveniles. Also, their puzzlement about life and pains with growing in the adolescence as well as interest conflicts between students and teachers or parents are described.

6. 灵异小说 língyì xiǎoshuō

Spiritual fictions

Língyì xiǎoshuō shì yī zhǒng xīnxīng xiǎoshuō wéntǐ ，yǐ shénguǐ děng shìwù wéi tícái ，xuànrǎn kǒngbù língyì qìfēn huò zhǎnxiàn qíhuàn sècǎi 。

灵异小说是一种新兴小说文体，以神鬼等事物为题材，渲染恐怖灵异气氛或展现奇幻色彩。

As an emerging fiction form, spiritual fictions are themed on spirits to create the spiritual atmosphere or demonstrate the fantastic colors.
