Yuán Lóng píng shì zhōng guó yī wèi fēi cháng yǒu míng de kē xué jiā ，tā jǐ shí nián rú yī rì dì péi yù zá jiāo shuǐ dào ，bèi rén men chēng wéi “zá jiāo shuǐ dào zhī fù ”。
袁隆平是中国一位非常有名的科学家，他几十年如一日地培育杂交水稻，被人们称为“杂交水稻之父”。

1973年，袁隆平培育出的杂交水稻亩产量从300公斤提高到500公斤。2001年，亩产量提高到926公斤。
Tāpéiyùchūdeshuǐ dào wéi zhōng guó zēng chǎn le jǐ yì dūn liáng shí ，bìng bèi měi guó 、rì běn děng yī bǎiduō gè guó jiā yǐn jìn,měi nián zēng chǎn de liáng shí kě yǐjiě jué shì jiè shàng sānqiān wǔbǎiwàn rén de chī fàn wèn tí 。
他培育出的水稻为中国增产了几亿吨粮食，并被美国、日本等100多个国家引进；每年增产的粮食可以解决世界上3500万人的吃饭问题。
Yuan Longping is a very famous Chinese scientist. He has devoted decades of his life to the development of hybrid rice, thus known as the “Father of Hybrid Rice”.
In 1973, the yield of the hybrid rice developed by Yuan Longping increased from 300 kilograms to 500kilograms per mu(1 mu≈1/6 acre). In 2001, the yield rose to 926.6 kilograms per mu.
Yuan Longping’s hybrid rice has contributed an increase of several hundred milli0on tonnes to China’s food production and has been introduced to more than 100 countries including the United States and Japan. The annual yield increase solves the problem of feeding 35 million people in the world.
