Chinese Poem：Be A Happy Person from Tomorrow on | 从明天起，做一个幸福的人

miàn cháo dà hǎi    chūn nuǎn huā kāi 

面朝大海，春暖花开

Facing the sea, Feeling spring opening

海子

cónɡ mínɡ tiān qǐ

从   明   天   起

From tomorrow on

zuò yí ɡè xìnɡ fú de rén

做  一 个 幸   福 的 人

I will be a happy person

wèi mǎ

喂  马

Grooming

pǐ chái

劈 柴

chopping

zhōu yóu shì jiè

周   游  世  界

traveling all over the world

cónɡ mínɡ tiān qǐ

从   明   天   起

From tomorrow on

ɡuān xīn liánɡ shi hé shū cài

关   心  粮    食  和 蔬  菜

I will care foodstuff and vegetables

wǒ yǒu yì suǒ fánɡ zi

我 有  一 所  房   子

I have a house

miàn cháo dà hǎi

面   朝   大 海

towards the sea

chūn nuǎn huā kāi

春   暖   花  开

with spring flowers blossoming

cónɡ mínɡ tiān qǐ

从   明   天   起

From tomorrow on

hé měi yí ɡè qīn rén tōnɡ xìn

和 每  一 个 亲  人  通   信

I will write to each of my dear ones

ɡào su tā men wǒ de xìnɡ fú

告  诉 他 们  我 的 幸   福

Telling them of my happiness

nà xìnɡ fú de shǎn diàn ɡào su wǒ de

那 幸   福 的 闪   电   告  诉 我 的

What the lightening of blessedness has told me

wǒ jiānɡ ɡào su měi yí ɡè rén

我 将    告  诉 每  一 个 人

I will spread it to each of them

ɡěi měi yì tiáo hé

给  每  一 条   河

give  every river

měi yí zuò shān

每  一 座  山

and every mountain

qǔ yí ɡè wēn nuǎn de mínɡ zi

取 一 个 温  暖   的 名   字

a warm name

mò shēnɡ rén

陌 生    人

Dear, strangers

wǒ yě wéi nǐ zhù fú

我 也 为  你 祝  福

I will also give you my well-wishing

yuàn nǐ yǒu yí ɡè càn làn de qián chénɡ

愿   你 有  一 个 灿  烂  的 前   程

May you have a brilliant future

yuàn nǐ yǒu qínɡ rén zhōnɡ chénɡ juàn shǔ

愿   你 有  情   人  终    成    眷   属

May you lovers eventually become spouse

yuàn nǐ zài chén shì huò dé xìnɡ fú

愿   你 在  尘   世  获  得 幸   福

May you enjoy happiness in this earthly world

wǒ zhǐ yuàn

我 只  愿

 Haizi （海子）was one of the most  famous poets in Mainland China after the Cultural Revolution. He committed suicide at the age of 25. He wrote several long poems, “choral operas” and countless short poems in his brief life. His style is described as  “anachronism”. Facing the Sea, with Spring Blossoms is one of his most popular poems.
