This is a big problem in the most of foreigners’ Chinese language studying. Actually, they are not so complex, all you should do is to remember such three sentence patterns.
1 定语+的+名词—-attribute+的+noun
这是他的书(zhè shì tā de shū)
This is his book.
去西安的游客很多(qù xī ān de yóu kè hěn duō)
There are many tourists who travel in Xi’an
他有一个很好听的中文名字(tā yǒu yí gè hěn hǎo tīng de zhōng wén míng zi)
He has a good Chinese name.
2 状语+地+动词—-adverbial+地+verb
他慢慢地走进教室(tā màn man de zǒu jìn jiào shì)
He walked into the classroom slowly
他大声地对我说:……(tā dà shēng de duì wǒ shuō)
He spoke up to me loudly
他努力地工作(tā nǔ lì de gōng zuò)
He works very hard.
3 动词/形容词+得+补语—-verb/adjective+得+complement
补语(bǔ yǔ)—–complement: it is more like post-adverbial in Chinese sentence structure.
我们把房间打扫得干干净净(wǒ mēn bǎ fáng jiān dǎ sǎo dé gān gān jìng jìng)
We made the room very clean
她激动得差点儿哭了(tā jī dòng dé chā diǎn ér kū le)
She almost cried with excitement
他跑得很快(tā pǎo dé hěn kuài)
He ran very fast
And pay attention to their pronunciations, both”的” and “地” pronounce (de) in spoken Chinese, the only 得 is different, it must pronounce (dé)
练习—-Practice
Use the correct character to fill the blank.
汽车开( )很慢—-The car is driven slowly
这是我买( )毛衣—–This is the sweater I bought
他汉语说( )很好—–His Chinese is very good
