Is 定心丸 (ding xīn wán) just a drug?

In TCM, 定心丸 (ding xīn wán) is a kind of drug that can smooth one's nerves and set one's mind at ease, benefit vital energy and nourish blood. It now often refers to the words or act which can make someone feel assured.
