JUN ZI YANG YANG

My husband looks full of satisfaction.

In his left hand he holds his reed-organ,

And with his right he calls me to the room.

Oh the joy!

My husband looks delighted.

In his left hand he holds his screen of feathers,

And with his right he calls me to the stage.

Oh the joy!

jūn zǐ yáng yáng ，

君子阳阳

jūn zǐ yáng yáng ，

君子阳阳①，

zuǒ zhí huáng ，

左执簧②，

yòu zhāo wǒ yóu fàng ，

右招我由房③，

qí lè zhī qiě ！

其乐只且④！

jūn zǐ táo táo ，

君子陶陶 ⑤，

zuǒ zhí dào ，

左执翿 ⑥，

yòu zhāo wǒ yóu áo ，

右招我由敖⑦，

qí lè zhī qiě ！

其乐只且！

注释：

①阳阳：得意的样子。 ②簧：古时的一种吹奏乐器 ③由：同 “游”房：同“放”。由房，游乐 

④只、且：语气助词，没有实义。 ⑤陶陶：快乐的样子。 ⑥纛：（dao)羽毛做成的舞具。

⑦敖：同 “邀”。由敖：游遨。

译文：

夫君得意喜洋洋， 

左手拿簧高声唱。 

右手招我去游乐， 

尽情欢爱真快乐。

夫君快乐乐陶陶， 

左手拿羽把舞跳。

右手招我去游玩，

尽情欢爱真快乐。
