1. 打脸 slap in the face

shì zhǎng zài xuān bù yào jìng xuǎn zǒng tǒng hòu wán quán dǎ le zì jǐ de liǎn, yīn wèi tā céng chéng nuò huì zuò mǎn rèn qī.

市长在宣布要竞选总统后完全打了自己的脸，因为他曾承诺会做满任期。

The mayor promised that he will finish his term, so it was a slap in the face when he announced to run for president. 

2. 照骗 flattering photo

wǎng luò shàng yǒu hěn duō jiāo xué huì jiāo nǐ zěn me pāi chū zì jǐ de zhào piàn

网络上有很多教学会教你怎么拍出自己的照骗。

There are lots of tutorials on the Internet that teach you how to take a flattering photo of yourself. 

3. 起床气 get up on the wrong side of the bed

tā zěn me le? jīn tiān kàn qǐ lái xiōng shén è shà

她怎么了？今天看起来凶神恶煞。

A: What's wrong with her? She looks so mean today. 

huò xǔ shì tā qǐ chuáng qì hái méi xiāo ba

或许是她起床气还没消吧。

B: Maybe she got up on the wrong side of the bed today. 

4. 暖男 caring / considerate guy

dāng yí gè nuǎn nán kě yǐ ràng wǒ jiāo dào nǚ péng yǒu ma

当一个暖男可以让我交到女朋友吗？

Does being a caring guy mean that I can finally get a girlfriend? 

5. 负能量 negative energy

bú yào bèi qí tā rén de fù néng liàng jī kuǎ

不要被其他人的负能量击垮。

Don't let other people's negative energy bring you down. 

6. 低调 keep a low profile / low-key

tā xǐ huān bǎo chí dī diào, suǒ yǐ tā hěn shǎo shàng diàn shì.

她喜欢保持低调，所以她很少上电视。

She likes to keep a low profile, so she rarely shows up on TV. 

zhè chǎng pài duì bàn de xiāng dāng dī diào

这场派对办得相当低调。

This party is a really low-key event. 

7. 你少臭美 You're so full of yourself

wǒ shì yí gè chāo bàng de nán péng yǒu, shì ba

我是一个超棒的男朋友，是吧？

A: I am a really nice boyfriend, right?
