天哪，我又要准备“吃土”了！又要准备“剁手”了！你们知道为什么吗？

My god! I have to eat earth again, and be ready to chop off my hands! Do you know why?

Yīn wèi “shuānɡ shí yī”ɡòu wù jié yào lái le yɑ ， ɡòu wù chē hé shōu cánɡ jiá lǐ de bǎo bèi zhōnɡ yú ké yǐ qīnɡ yi qīnɡ le 。

因为“双十一”购物节要来了呀，购物车和收藏夹里的宝贝终于可以清一清了。

Because the Double 11 Shopping Carnival is coming, and articles in my shopping cart and in the computer’s Favorite folder can be emptied eventually.

什么是双十一呢？

What is Double 11?

Cónɡ  nián kāi shǐ ， měi nián  yuè  rì ， yě jiù shì zhōnɡ ɡuó de “ɡuānɡ ɡùn jié” ，wǎnɡ shànɡ shānɡ pǐn dū huì fēnɡ kuánɡ dǎ zhé。Xiàn zài， “shuānɡ shí yī”mínɡ fù qí shí dì chénɡ wéi le zhōnɡ ɡuó shèn zhì shì quán qiú zuì dà ɡuī mó de shānɡ yè cù xiāo huó dònɡ 。

从2010年开始，每年11月11日，也就是中国的“光棍节”，网上商品都会疯狂打折。现在，“双十一”名副其实地成为了中国甚至是全球最大规模的商业促销活动。

Since 2010, all online retailers in China have sold their products at dramatically low discounts on Nov., 11 or the Chinese Singles’ Day. Nowadays, Double 11 has actually become the largest commercial promotion event in China and even in the world.

Zài měi ɡuó ， yě yǒu ɡè ɡòu wù jì jiào “hēi sè xīnɡ qī wǔ” ，hé“shuānɡ shí yī”  xiānɡ bǐ ，  hēi sè xīnɡ qī wǔ  yōnɡ yǒu ɡènɡ chánɡ de lì shǐ ， dà yuē qǐ shǐ yú shànɡ shì jì liù qī shí nián dài 。 “hēi sè xīnɡ qī wǔ”  tōnɡ chánɡ shì dōnɡ jì jié qìnɡ xiāo shòu wànɡ jì de kāi duān ， yì zhí yán xù dào shènɡ dàn jié hòu 。 Kàn lái ɡòu wù rè qínɡ yě shì méi yǒu ɡuó jiè de ne ！

在美国，也有个购物季叫“黑色星期五”，和“双十一”相比，“黑色星期五”拥有更长的历史，大约起始于上世纪六七十年代。“黑色星期五”通常是冬季节庆销售旺季的开端，一直延续到圣诞节后。看来购物热情也是没有国界的呢！

In the US, there is also a shopping carnival, the Black Friday. Compared with Double 11, it has a longer history dating back to 1960s and 1970s. As the beginning of the season of sales through the winter festivals, it usually comes to end after the Christmas Day. Seemingly, shopping spree is never limited within a single country.

Bù tónɡ de shì ， cān yù  hēi sè xīnɡ qī wǔ  de zhǔ yào shì měi ɡuó quán ɡuó dà duō shù de shí tǐ diàn jí wǎnɡ diàn ， ér“shuānɡ shí yī”  shì yǐ zài xiàn shānɡ diàn wéi zhǔ 。

不同的是，参与“黑色星期五”的主要是美国全国大多数的实体店及网店，而“双十一”是以在线商店为主。

However, Black Friday involves both the brick-mortar stores and online stores in the US, while Double 11 in China are dominated by online stores only.

Dà duō shù měi ɡuó rén dū huì cān yù“hēi sè xīnɡ qī wǔ”，ér qiě shì quán jiā chū dònɡ ， nán nǚ lǎo shǎo yì qǐ “mǎi mǎi mǎi”。 Shuānɡ shí yī de zhǔ yào cān yù zhě yuán běn shì dān shēn nán nǚ ， xiàn zài yě zhú jiàn tuò zhǎn dào le zhěnɡ ɡè nián qīnɡ rén qún tǐ 。

大多数美国人都会参与“黑色星期五”，而且是全家出动，男女老少一起“买买买”。“双十一”的主要参与者原本是单身男女，现在也逐渐拓展到了整个年轻人群体。

Almost everyone in the US would engage himself or herself in Black Friday, either the young or the old, and either men or women. In contrast, Double 11 appealed to only single men or women originally, but have now become popular among the whole group of young people gradually.

Regarding the shopping carnival, I have words to all of you, “Do keep you eyes widely open and your head absolutely cool. Buy anything reasonably. One that maintains the sophisticated mind and the sharp sight would be the only winner of this war.”
